The annual Art Basel festivities are just around the corner and the buzz is building! If you’re  a culture vulture, we’ve got the perfect event for you. Get out and explore some of the lesser known areas of Hong Kong’s art scene and experience the growing art community down in the South Island Cultural District. To do so, join the South Island Art Brunch on Thursday, March 24 and fill up on art with an exciting array of events from gallery happenings to art space and studio openings.

Featuring interactive art exhibitions at 22 different art spaces, visitors can attend a range of art events, including exhibition openings, music and dance performances and the chance to meet various international and local artists. Join the art tours for those seeking a little guidance, or roam the galleries at your own pace. There’ll also be complementary nibbles and drinks served throughout the day to satisfy your taste buds as you make your way round.

Founded back in 2013, the South Island Cultural District is composed of over 25 galleries and art spaces spread over Wong Chuk Hang, Ap Lei Chau and Tin Wan. Offering a unique range of contemporary art from international and local artists alike, there’s always something new to look forward to. This year’s Art Brunch is no exception – with activities for all ages, there’s something for everyone down on Hong Kong’s Southside.

South Island Art Brunch Wong Chuk Hang, Ap Lei Chau and Tin Wan, Mar 24, 10am-2pm; free shuttle bus transportation available from HKCEC. For more information visit sicd.com.hk or call 2696 2300.
